The combined CPI for Jun-15 inched up to 5.4% from 5.01% in May-15 owing to significant rise in the prices of vegetables and pulses. Vegetables prices increased by 5.37% in Jun-15 as against 4.64% in the previous month. Inflation in pulses also soared to 22.2% in Jun-15 from 16.6% in May-15, contributing almost 10% to rise in the CPI. With higher food articles prices, inflation in rural area increased to 6.1% in Jun-15 from 5.5% in May-15. On the other hand, urban CPI inflation increased to 4.55% in Jun-15 from 4.4% in May-15.
